We Found A Bar In Chicago That Gives Away Free Booze And Races Turtles Every Friday Night
Welcome back to Da Bars for Season 2 Episode 2 in what's the most beloved project of my career. And I mean the whole body of work. So yes that includes me moving foosball tables for wealthy north shore MILFs. Fraud investigations at global financial institutions. Dropping out of law school twice and cold calling my way out of debt. Some nice feathers in the cap but nothing and I mean nothing stacks up to the monthly video series of us hanging out at Chicago bars.
And let me emphasize a word real quick. BARS. Not cocktail lounges or trendy finger food places. Places that don't hand you a draft list with seasonal frose the moment you sit down. And nothing against those places because they obviously serve a purpose. But they don't command loyalty and respect from the neighborhood the same way as an institution like Tin Lizzie.
Located at 2438 N. Clark, Tin Lizzie will instantly take you back to your college days of rolling 7-10 deep and hustling for a good drink special. There will be large groups of single women. Large groups of single men. Large groups of "work friends" and birthday parties and friends visiting Chicago. It's one massive crockpot of good attitudes slow cooking a good time. Very much a place you leave your problems at the door because there's too much going on to be a sad sour puss. You go to Tin Lizzie to party and tap into that place in life where you're only worried about the next beer and getting some girl's attention.
But you also go to Tin Lizzie for Turtle Races which is exactly how it sounds: horse racing, but with turtles. They run 4 races every Friday night and it's simply exhilarating. Everyone gets a race card at the start of the night to pick a winner for each race. If you pick the winning turtle for a race, then you win a free shot. All you do is show the bartender your race card with the winning pick circled and you get a taste. They run the first race then wait 20 minutes so the winners can go get their shot. They then repeat this 3 more times much to the loud and boisterous approval of the crowd. Truly one of the most unique bar experiences across Chicago.
The one major standard?
Great Tasting Less Filling Miller Lite. So many bottles. So many buckets and drafts. It really is the perfect beer for virtually any occasion, but hard to imagine a better setting than Tin Lizzie with the fellas on a Friday night. Certainly a different vibe than some previous episodes, but equally a formidable place to drink some cold ones. Definitely go check it out next time you're looking to organize the party. 2438 N Clark in the heart of Lincoln Park

And of course - support Miller Lite. Every GTLF consumed moves Barstool Chicago one step closer to the moon.
PS - I know it's a Detroit sports bar. We've been down this path before with Chicago bars. Some of the best ones cater to outside fanbases and quite frankly that's just good business. In no way shape or form does that compromise your standing with me.
PPS - Delilahs season 2 anyone???
