WELCOME BACK!!!!!!
The enthusiasm is very real. I am delighted to return for season 2 of Da Bars - a local video series where I go to my favorite bars across Chicago. For obvious reasons, this content hits very close to home on a number of levels.
Fortunately we're running back a season 2 that will consist of 6 episodes rolled out over the next 6 months.
This week we're at Cody's - a Lakeview/Roscoe Village staple even though it's not technically in Roscoe Village. Although it pulls a majority of business from the RV locals so you can understand the identification issues. Truthfully, nobody really cares how you categorize Cody's. Not the owners, bartenders, patrons, or even the dogs.
YES DOGS.
So many dogs I don't know where to start. Dogs everywhere. It's the absolute best.
Another great thing is the backyard patio complete with the Big Boy grills. BYOB where the 2nd B stands for burgers? That's the neighborhood touch we value.
It's a great story of some friends coming together to save an institution. I introduce you to some of these folks in this month's video. They deserve a lot of credit as Cody's was shuttered for good during COVID. People were devastated and then one day the news started circulating. CODYS IS COMING BACK.
