If You're Going To Prank A Teammate, Make Sure He Wasn't Cut The Night Before
In the last of the Spittin' Chiclets summer interview series, Bernie Nicholls joined the boys for an enjoyable chat about a bygone era of the NHL. Like when pranks were much more prevalent and guys were pulling off B&Es just to bust a teammate's balls...
I can't imagine what the hell would happen to a player nowadays if he tried to pull that off. #HockeyTwitter would be calling for his head for elder abuse or attempted assault or some shit.
Of the hundreds of teammates Bernie had over his career, it was easy for him to pick who he'd want for a teammate for all 18 NHL seasons.
Even though Wayne Gretzky is, well, Wayne Gretzky, one of his LA teammates actually got more shine than #99.
And speaking of LA, Nicholls didn't even know the West Coast metropolis had a team when the Kings drafted him in 1980 (though it's not like the Kings had some storied history he should have been aware of).
