We're Still Waiting On Klingberg, Kadri, And Other NHL Free Agents To Sign
Johnny Gaudreau was the biggest surprise of this year's NHL free agent sweepstakes and I don't think anything will shock us more than the former Flame signing with a team in Ohio. In hindsight, it wasn't that crazy...
Ondrej Palat going from Tampa to Newark wasn't something that many (any?) bought stock in prior to the signing period but the playoff savant headed north to join a franchise that should see a nice uptick this season.
Nazem Kadri is still listening to offers and most likely weighing chasing another Cup vs. earning more money. I'm guessing that the dynastic lure of Denver outweighs a few more million in career earnings.
While a few UFA D-men have been scooped up, the #1 guy on the that list---John Klingberg---still has yet to ink a deal. So we asked this week's Spittin' Chiclets guest Kevin Weekes for his take.
Needless to say, his next pit stop is very much a mystery right now. Regardless, he should get a bump from the four-and-a-quarter mill he made for the last seven years in Dallas.
Even though he's not a free agent right now, there's a ton of speculation about the future of Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Kane and where he might end up when the team (most likely) trades him.
We also wondered what the hell the Chicago brain trust is thinking these days.
Sadly, one UFA will no longer ply his trade on North American soil and that makes me sad.
If there is one fan base that is rightfully pissed off these days, it's the Philadelphia Flyers. The team is owned by a soulless conglomerate, its most popular employee is a rage-aholic Muppet, and the franchise hasn't appeared to have any sort of front office game plan since this guy last heard that name…
I mean, just check out the ratio on this Tweet.
3X more replies than RTs. Or as Flyers fans refer to it, the "Chuck Fletcher Special".
As the NHL world turns…
We still have a lot of shit to shake out and we will address it on Episode 398 of Spittin' Chiclets.
Have a great weekend. As you were…
