The Title Race Might Be Over For Manchester City

Alright, I’m not going to lie, I felt like a bit of an idiot writing that title. But hey, in America, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to get people to click on a soccer blog, right?

So, here we are. Liverpool is currently sitting five points ahead of City and nine points ahead of Arsenal. And let me be the first to say it: Arsenal’s season is done. They’ve dropped 14 points in just 11 games—you can’t claw your way back from that. Arsenal just can’t seem to close out those nail-biting games, and eventually, that’s going to come back to bite them in the ass.

As for City? They’ve apparently been "terrible" this season. I say “terrible” in quotes because, well, terrible for City still means 23 points in 11 games. But, for the first time ever, Pep Guardiola has lost four games in a row, and people are celebrating like their team just won the World Cup. But let’s be real—that’s not going to last. 

Sure, Rodri’s hurt, and KDB hasn’t looked like his usual self. But this is still Manchester City and, more importantly, this is still Pep Guardiola we’re talking about. Chances are, he’s going to use this international break to cook up yet another tactical innovation that will make us all question if we even understand the game. Then, City will come back and probably win another 15 games straight.

So, while it’s nice to imagine a world where City actually struggles for a whole season, we all know deep down that it’s probably not going to happen. Pep will find a way, as he always does, to ruin the fun for everyone else and keep City on top.
