I Am Officially Declaring Ohio State The 2024 Transfer Portal Champions

** Laugh if you want. Poke fun if you want. Congratulate us on finally something if you want. I would do all of the above if I were a Michigan or Georgia fan, too (everyone else has zero leg to stand on). But just know that I am taking receipts. I've never been more confident in an Ohio State team heading into a football season that I am about the 2024 (and will be 2025 when we play for the National Championship) Buckeyes. Because not only are we a hurt and hungry football team with a group of coaches and returnees playing with our backs against the wall, we just absolutely fucking DOMINATED the transfer portal.

Added - #1 player in the country Caleb Downs, #1 QB in the country Julian Sayin, #1 RB in the country Quinshon Judkins, Bama starting Center Seth McLaughlin, 4-star Kansas State starting QB Will Howard

Lost - KYLE MCCORD!!!, Dalan Hayden and Chip Trayanum (would've battled for 3rd string RB), a couple good receivers in Julian Fleming and Noah Rogers but also who cares we're loaded there, and....depth at Safety?

That alone right there is enough to take, but in a season where our Athletic Director has admitted he was on tilt and went all-in on funding whatever it takes to bring us back to winning championships, it's the future of the program that still has me fired up. Everyone else is losing people in their 2-deep that are being shown bigger roles and bigger dollar signs elsewhere, except for us. I mean, we went into the Spring Game with 5 quarterbacks that could all start at a lot of different Power 5 programs, and the general assumption was we'd lose at least one, probably two, of them before the portal closed. Nope, all 5 came back. Does that mean all 5 think they have a chance at starting? Certainly not, right? Howard has to be QB1 right now, Brown has to think he has a chance, and while Sayin has apparently given himself an outsider's shot, Air Noland must think he's done well enough to remain in contention for next season. The only one I simply cannot comprehend staying is Lincoln Keinholz....? Maybe the culture is just that good in Columbus right now.

Either way, that's not the point of this blog. The point of this blog is to showcase all of the additions the Buckeyes have made for this championship run, including:

Talk about a Win / Win. Ryan Day is no longer calling plays, gets to be more of a CEO, and we get Chip Kelly dicing up the defense? I know my Dozen performance overhyped and underdelivered, but this Ohio State football team CERTAINLY will not.
