The AFC West Is The Most Stacked Division In Football

Denver is an interesting team if you look at what they did last year. Their offense was obviously putrid. Bridgewater did a solid job game managing, but Lock has always stunk and always will. Their conservative and bad play brought down the production of their receivers, but they had Javonte Williams rack up 1200 yards and Melvin Gordon had 1,131. Gordon might be gone in the off season, but Javonte obviously has what it takes to be the dual purpose back every team in the league needs. 

What they excelled in, though, was defense. They allowed the 6th fewest yards in the league and the 3rd fewest points against. They played against some shitty teams for sure, but they also played Mahomes, Herbert and Carr twice each, Lamar Jackson, Dak, and Burrow. They're losing Shelby Harris in this trade, but they still have most of their core guys signed with only few out in FA.

Wilson was hurt for a spell last year, but he still has plenty left in the tank. He's only 33 and is stepping into an offense with a very solid RB and underappreciated WR talent. Lets say he ends next year with his totals from 2 seasons ago. That would have been good for 13th in yards, 3rd in touchdowns, and 15th in completions. All with one less game than every team had this year!

Lets look at the 2021 season in passing for the other teams 

The Chargers : 2nd in yards, 5th in touchdowns, 4th in completions 

The Chiefs: 4th in yards, 6th in touchdowns, 2nd in completions 

The Raiders: 6th in yards, 17th in touchdowns, 5th in completions 

In today's league, what division is more stacked? More complete? NONE. It is going to be an absolute dogfight next season and I can't wait.

P.S. I'm very happy the Chargers got Mike Williams back. He was one of the best receivers in football last year and one of Herbie's favorite targets. Now there is only one thing left to do after this trade. SIGN/DRAFT MORE GOOD DEFENSIVE BACKS
