A 7'0" Unicorn Named CHET, Who Embarrassed Steph Curry At His Own Camp Was Just Named The No. 1 Hoops Recruit In The Country

Chet fucking Holmgren. Does this guy look like he should be the No. 1 recruit in the country? Nope, well outside of being 7'0" nope. I'm addicted to his game. He's been on the scene for a few years now, but he really went viral when he hit Steph Curry with his own move at Steph's camp before dunking

But his name is Chet! I can't get over that. It's talked about all the time, you need a solid name to be a great player. I never thought I'd see the day where a guy named Chet was the No. 1 recruit in the country. Chet Holmgren sounds like a guy Packers fans talk dearly about. If not that he sounds like a tight end at Iowa. Chet! 

Here's the thing. He's legit. Yes he's 7'0" and weighs as much as Vibbs, but the dude has been around for years. His dad played for Minnesota back in the day and he's currently playing high school ball in Minnesota. Obviously just being listed as the No. 1 recruit is huge, but he's a been a top-3 guy for a couple years now. 

Here's the crazy thing though - according to his 247 recruiting page the schools he's the warmest on are Gonzaga, Texas, Purdue and Minnesota. Nothing from Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, etc. That said, him at Purdue looks about right. Imagine if he goes there and they still had Matt Haarms. They would make so many people irrationally angry. 

I need Chet to play college hoops. The guy is electric, especially if he doesn't put on an ounce of muscle. 

I'm trying to think of Chet rankings, he's in a clear top-5. Only other ones I can think of is Chet Hunter and Chet Steadman.
