Tobi? More like KOBE

What a fucking headline, just the perfect dad joke. Tobi literally rhymes with Kobe.

Nevertheless, it seems like we may have found our late game closer. Listen I know it was against the Knicks but still it's a big shot in a road win. That’s been my biggest worry of the year. When it comes down to playoff time who the hell is gonna step up and take over Jimmy’s roll to get a bucket when we need one. I love Embiid but when asked upon that has not been the best part of his game. Which is fair. He’s not an iso type player that will take the ball at the top of the key and hit a step back to win the game. But it’s looking more and more like Tobias is gonna be that guy.

Tobi has really been able to grow in Embiid’s absence and it’s huge for us going forward. I wrote a blog a couple weeks ago about how I thought Embiid being out was going to be good for the future of the team, and I definitely still believe that. We’ve learned a ton about what we have.

Ben Simmons is capable of taking over games. For some reason he never wants to take over in the second half but we’ll worry about that later. At least we know that when called upon he can be aggressive and go get a bucket.

Matisse Thybulle has been a perfect roll player in his extended minutes. His offensive stats aren't going to be overly impressive but what he gives you on the defensive side of the ball is fun to watch. His on ball defending is getting better and better and most importantly he's a fucking playmaker.

Al Horford stinks. I know this is supposed to be about how Embiid's absence was gonna be good for the team but at least now we know he stinks. I don't know how he's gonna do it, but EB has gotta find a way to get that fucking contract off the books at the deadline. He shouldn't even be starting when Embiid comes back.

So whatever, all in all its been a decent stretch.  Embiid's gonna come back and hopefully take Horford out of the fucking lineup. Tobi will continue his roll as the closer. And maybe one day Simmons will try and play basketball for 2 halves instead of one.
