SHUT IT DOWN, SHUT LOWERING THE BAR THE FUCK DOWN

SHUT IT THE FUCK DOWN. Jon Taffer absolutely HATES these punching machines for instilling violence and escalating testosterone, not to mention this dive bar classic is the definition of an insurance liability. Hearing Taffer trash talk these machines in the clip below while some red neck named Jameson splits his hand open is flat out good TV. Long live Bar Rescue.

I love Jon Taffer and would gladly do anything he says to rescue my bar, BUT on Lowering The Bar, we thrive on chaos and potential insurance claims for content. So, we wheeled one of these bad boys into the office to get the testosterone and violence going and measure the power employees can put behind a punch. It worked. When dudes are being dudes, they can't resist seeing how much harder they can punch something than their friends.

A few of the scores are a few digits off on the graphic, but the placement for each competitor is correct. My biggest take aways are…

- Billy Football has earned the title of the hardest hitter in the office, unless you include Security Guard Pat who annihilated the bag after hours with a high score of 820. A punching machine is not the most accurate way to tell how good someone is at fighting, but the machine has taught us the obvious - Billy and Security Guard Pat could definitely cave in your face.

- Caroline hits hard.

- PFT has the neck strength of an NFL fullback. 433 seems like a low score, until you realize PFT head-butted the bag. Anyone else who attempted a head butt struggled to break 300.
