That time Saget wouldn't shut up.
I had the pleasure of sitting down with the now-late Bob Saget on a couple of occasions, including a 45-minute interview I had with him that I attached above.
The reason I went bold and underlined the "45-minute interview" above is that NOBODY wants to talk to me for that long.
And not only that, I am notorious for fucking up interviews by talking too much, but Saget took control of this discussion from start to finish.
Before we started, he asked how long it should go? I told him we like to keep these talks to sub-20 minutes. And if you watch it the whole way through (and God bless you, if you do), I almost had to tear him out of the seat to stop talking 45 minutes later.
He died while on tour, which is what he alluded to in our interview (after I said he was never going to stop comedy), which is kinda spooky now, but not really.
And like a said before, I talked with him on only 3 or 4 occasions. Plus, we spoke only a handful of times on social media following each of his appearances. But the man was always on... Always professional... And always very funny.
Believe it or not, I wasn't a big Full House guy, but I enjoyed his standup a great deal, he was great in Entourage, and he directed Dirty Work starring the late-great Norm MacDonald, the late-great Jack Warden, the late-great Don Rickles, and the somehow-alive Artie Lange.
He was one of the most engaging celebrities I have ever had the opportunity to meet, and he will be sorely missed.
