Former All Pro Eddie George on the Jaguars: “Jacksonville Doesn’t Have to Worry About Covid … 6 Feet Of Distance is Already Built In to their Fan Base”
Welcome to the 3 Minute Tryst, a 3-minute conversation series exploring sports, music, business and culture in a fun, playful and light atmosphere. Check out the last episode of 3MT with 3 Time NBA Slam Dunk Champion and soon to be boxing sensation Nate Robinson.
On this week’s 3MT, I got the chance to sit down with Heisman Trophy winner and NFL All-Pro Eddie George. Not only was Eddie a menace on the gridiron, but he’s also carved out a new career on Broadway, most notably playing Billy Flynn in the touring cast of Chicago, and recently started a financial advising firm aimed at helping athletes manage their money. Eddie gives his opinion on a variety of subjects, from who has the worst fans on Twitter (SEC fans better start ducking now) to what his wife (Taj from SWV) thinks of his vocal abilities, what the fuck is going on in Jacksonville with the Jaguars organization and a lot more.
As always, we put Eddie through the Rapid Fire Questions gauntlet (sponsored by Bussin’ With the Boys), where he answered what he thought the O/U on Titans wins this year would be, whether singing the national anthem at the Met or lining up in the Red Zone in the Super Bowl is more nerve-racking, and opined on whether he thought of playing linebacker for Penn State (Paterno wanted him to play defense) while he was riding the bench at Ohio State his sophomore year.
