If You Could Erase One TV Show Or Movie From Your Memory To Relive It, What Would You Pick? Jerry O'Connell Answers The Internet
My reflex answer? My Secret Identity, starring Jerry O’Connell. Just an all time classic from the 80s that was on the OG Super Hero train. Just happened to pop into my head. No reason.
But if I give it some thought, I have 2 answers. 1 is Breaking bad. Which, I know, is cliche. But Vince Gilligan’s masterpiece came along jussssst a little too early in my opinion. I was blogging recaps and reactions to every episode and we were doing Barstool DVR podcasts for the final season, but its just so different now. Seeing how Game of Thrones was a cultural phenomenon by the time we reached the final season, I think Breaking Bad would have been just as big if not bigger. Take the size of the internet and the power of 2019 social media, combine it with the greatest show of all time that doesnt alienate a huge portion of the population with its fantasy aspects, and I think the reception and reaction of Breaking Bad today would be the greatest TV experience of all time. So if I could somehow A) erase Breaking Bad from my brain and B) re-experience it with everyone else in present day, that would be unreal.
But I realize thats adding a second wrinkle. If we’re just talking about erasing a show so you can watch it again, by yourself, binging at home. I’d add another loophole if that was the case. I would erase Lost, Season 6, and then kill myself. And then I would die and go to the afterlife thinking LOST was the greatest show of all time. Because those first 4 seasons, a some of the 5th, was my favorite TV entertainment ever. Back before the writers strikes fucked everything and back before you realized those assholes werent going to wrap up any of their mysteries, Lost was absolutely stellar. The time travel and time lines and sci fi mixed with story telling, loved it. So erase the shitty portion of Lost and let that live on as the GOAT.
