Speaking To A Former Enforcer and Debt Collector For The Bonanno Crime Family

Back this week for another huge episode of the Sitdown: A Crime History Podcast…

I interviewed former Bonanno mob associate Gene Borello. Gene tells his story from the beginning, born into a family with ties to the Mafia from Ozone Park and Howard Beach in Queens. We talked about his teenage years getting into petty crime and ultimately becoming a bookmaker, loan shark, debt collector, home invader and earner/enforcer for the Bonanno Crime Family under capos like Vincent Asaro and Ronald "Ronnie G" Giallanzo. He would ultimately commit robberies, shootings and earned a lot of money for the family, but it all came crashing down and he faced a decision.
