Saying Percy Harvin Was a Better College Football Player Than Tim Tebow Is Worthy of Jail Time

This particular debate from this week's Macrodosing went several directions. I said Tim Tebow was the best college football player ever — I probably should have said best quarterback, but I stand by my assertion — and that turned into a few different side arguments, one of which has me incensed. Arian Foster, a guy who you may have heard played a little bit of football back in the day, says Percy Harvin was a better college football player than Tebow. I am beside myself.

I don't agree with the argument that Tebow's greatness can be explained away by the fact he had several weapons — yes, Florida had great players under Urban Meyer — but that's at least a conversation reasonable people can have. To turn around and say, however, that Harvin was the best player on that offense is simply preposterous.

Harvin was a fantastic player. But he wasn't even in the top 20 in the country in scrimmage yards in his best season. Tebow won a damn Heisman Trophy in 2007 and received the most first place votes in 2008. We aren't even talking about players in the same stratosphere.

Coley's argument that Cam Newton was a better player in that UF quarterbacks room holds much more water, even if I don't agree with that, either. That's at least another Heisman winner who's in the same conversation.

I'm just disappointed in Arian, that's all. This take is the very definition of an L.
