Elon Musk Needs to Implement a System That Lets Us Know Who's a Twitter Veteran

On this week's Macrodosing, we're talking all things Elon Musk, with his $43 billion purchase of Twitter obviously at the forefront. Everyone has an opinion on what Musk should or shouldn't do with the platform, but I have an idea I think everyone can get behind.

We have the verification badge so you can tell real people from fake accounts, so let's create a whole swath of badges so I can know who's a Twitter OG and who joined in 2019. I don't really respond to any yahoos on Twitter anymore, but I'd possibly be more willing to engage with someone if I know they've been through the wars.

You were on Twitter for the dress debate? That's a badge. On before you could put pictures in tweets? Badge.

I'd also be down for some performance-based badges. Maybe more than 25 tweets with at least 10,000 retweets or 50,000 likes gets you the platinum badge or something. I'm just spitballing, but you get the idea. Show me who's been through it on that hellhole of a website and who's been resting on their laurels.

On the rest of this week's four-hour show, we discuss Elon's early life and rise to fame, what content moderation on social media should or shouldn't look like and much more. Download wherever you listen to podcasts and subscribe on YouTube.
