JJ Redick Thinks Ben Simmons Is Actually Right-Handed

On Wednesday's Pardon My Take... JJ REDICK! The former Duke Blue Devil and recently retried NBA player joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter on the show to discuss the crazy Saturday night in Cameron, the NCAA Tournament, some NBA talk, and much more. Redick is also a former teammate of Ben Simmons, who was recently traded from Philadelphia to Brooklyn. There, of course, have been criticisms about Ben Simmons' shooting, and JJ Redick has a thought regarding that... is Ben Simmons actually a righty? Let's take a look:

Mr. Commenter: Here's another take that you can use, I think Kevin O'Connor is on this, too. But we've been saying for the last couple of years: Ben Simmons is actually right-handed. He just doesn't know it yet.

JJ Redick: I've told Ben that.

Mr. Commenter: Have you?

JJ Redick: Yeah.

Mr. Cat: And what did he say?

JJ Redick: He disagrees with me, but when I watch him write, he does it with his right hand. If I asked him to throw, he would do it with his right hand. Even when he jumps, not all of them, but a lot of his dunks, he jumps off his left foot. That's what a right-handed person does. And I've watched him shoot, and the form more resembles a proper shot than with his left hand.

Mr. Commenter: But we were just saying that because he's so bad with his left hand that he must be right-, but you're saying there's actually an element of truth to that, that he writes right-handed.

JJ Redick: I think he's a right-handed person that actually shoots the basketball left-handed.

Mr. Commenter: That's so weird.

Tonight, Ben Simmons makes his return to Philadelphia. He won't be paying, but he certainly will be hearing a boo or two. And when he does make his return on the court, maybe you'll watch him shoot and think, "Hmm, maybe this guy really is a righty."
