I'll come clean and say there is no shot I would've written that headline at this time yesterday and there's a chance the snitches at @OldTakesExposed will try to roast me about getting excited about my favorite team. But a sweep against a team that gutted itself almost completely to the core will do that to you. Baseball is so goddamn stupid sometimes. And by sometimes I mean all the time since I have convinced myself everything is going to be fine since the Mets are undefeated after I saw this #RallyRainbow on Sunday night.

Nonetheless, I have never been more ready for the Mets to face the daunting task those masochists in the MLB schedule department laid at our feet. Would I prefer that Jacob deGrom and Francisco Lindor were healthy for this stretch? Why yes I would. But as long as we have this team that has not given up all season as well as the Citi Field faithful acting like savages for the home games, I'll feel like we at least have a chance, even if the Dodgers crazy rotation may throw a negative hitter against this offense one of these games.

As for today's We Gotta Believe, Meek Phill of #MetsTwitter fam (@MeekPhill_) joins KFC and I to discuss the ups and downs of the 2021 Mets seaso, debate how Year 1 of the Cohen Era has been, if the Mets approached the trade deadline correctly, who is to blame for the shortcomings of the offense, and how the rest of the year may go (including the upcoming California gauntlet).

So listen to the pod, get hyped, and try to envision a world where this team comes out on the other end of this hellacious run with the meaningful games in September that those Wilpon fuckfaces promised us for years. Ya gotta believe.
