Mickey Mantle's Favorite Yankee Stadium Memory Was Getting a Blowjob Under the Bleachers During a Game

The story of history's most prolific drinkers simply can't be told without mentioning Mickey Mantle. His life is honestly a pretty sad story all things considered, but there are some unbelievable moments along the way. None better, however, than Mantle's response when the Yankees asked former players for their favorite memory in Yankee Stadium for the building's 50th anniversary.

It had nothing to do with any play on the field.

Given Mantle's self-described drinking habits on days he wasn't playing — and even those he was — I think it's safe to say there was some appreciable level of alcohol consumed prior to this event. And what a way with words he has, too. I think you have to do what I did and read that out loud to truly gain an appreciation for what a storyteller Mantle was.

Being a baseball player of Mantle's stature in the '60s must have just been as wild a ride as anyone could possibly imagine. Show up to the ballpark still a little sloshed and hungover from the night before, play the game and then go hit the town again. And if you're on the IL, maybe get into a few shenanigans under the right field bleachers while the other guys have to go out there and play.

This is just one of the stories we get into on this week's Macrodosing from the most famous drunks in history, from Socrates all the way to Michael Jordan. We cover quite an array. Listen to the full episode and maybe learn a little bit about who was gone off the sheesh while making some of the most important decisions in world history.
