The Seven Deadly Sins Are Extremely Outdated, And Also Complete Trash
The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices, or cardinal sins, is a grouping and classification of vices within Christian teachings, although they are not mentioned in the Bible. Behaviors or habits are classified under this category if they directly give rise to other immoralities. According to the standard list, they are pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth, which are contrary to the seven heavenly virtues.
Thanks to Wikipedia, we know what the standard 7 deadly sins are. Do they make sense in today's time? No, they don't.
Pride - what's so bad about being proud of yourself? What, we're all supposed to be miserable and not feel good about anything we've ever done? I can't stunt on the haters when I look hot, or if I do something cool?
Greed - we're all greedy. We all want more. We live in the ~*~*~*land of opportunity*~*~*~ for a reason. Money! Power! Sex! What's so bad about that?
Wrath - oh, now we're just supposed to bottle up our emotions? Pretty sure that's the #1 thing therapists tell you not to do?
Envy - What motivates us to do better? Jealousy. We need some way to fuel the fires under our asses.
Lust - get the fuck out with this. Now we cant think people are hot??? stfu, actually
Gluttony - If we're talking binge eating, I get it. That'll fuck your stomach up long term. Lots of acid reflux. But general over indulgence? What ever happened to TREAT YO SELF?
Lastly, Sloth - Fuck right off. You're telling me I can't lay around and do nothing? What the hell else am I supposed to do? Run errands? Make plans with friends? Plan for the future? Fat chance.
These "sins" are extremely outdated. We get into what the new "sins" should be on this week's episode of Because We Got High, along with a bunch of sex stories and our superstitions. Check it out, and subscribe for us while you're at it, will ya?
