This Week On Redline Radio We Discussed...The Importance Of Labor Unions (Seriously, We Did) With A Lawyer

Obviously a WILD day on the internet for Barstool. Ho hum, just trending third in the country because a different internet media company unionized.

With it being the 100 year anniversary of the Black Sox scandal where they took money to throw the World Series we decided to have a criminal defense lawyer break down the details of the case including how different the case would’ve been had there been an affective MLB Players Union at the time. The Players Association didn’t really become effectual until 1966 so the Eight Men Out including Joe Jackson effectively didn’t have legal represenation against Major League Baseball who gave them the lifetime ban. Without a Labor Union representing their rights they were on an island against their employer. If the same scandal happened today it likely would’ve gone to the Supreme Court. Instead, with the power of the MLBPA they were fucked. It was really fascinating to get into the nitty gritty details of the case with a practicing defense attorney.

Fast forward to the 31:00 mark to get the full break down.
