IGN- The final season of Game of Thrones will feature a battle the likes of which TV has never seen before. Sure, there’s been the Battle of the Bastards and the Loot Train Ambush, but all of those sequences will pale in comparison to what awaits fans when Season 8 premieres in 2019. According to Watchers on the Wall, the cast and crew just wrapped a 55 consecutive night shoot of a massive battle. That length of time more than doubles the amount of time it took to film their previous large-scale action scenes. To celebrate this momentous occasion, assistant director Jonathan Quinlan posted a thank you note on Instagram from “The Producer Types” addressed to the “Night Dragons” for all of their hard work. “When tens of millions of people around the world watch this episode a year from now, they won’t know how hard you worked,” the letter reads. “They won’t care how tired you were or how tough it was to do your job in sub-freezing temperatures.”

Live look at me any time I get any shred of season 8 Game of Thrones news

LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hell yes. Give me any little bits of GOT information. Give it to me. I want it. I crave it. This news that it’ll include a battle scene that took 55 nights to film is BIG. I crave the information because it feels like season 7 aired no less than 5 years ago. I don’t really remember anything that happened during season 7. To be fair I forget everything during an normal season-to-season break. I think we’re waiting twice as long as normal between season 7 end and season 8 starting. But still, 55 nights to film a battle scene is crazy. For comparison, the Battle of the Bastards took 25 nights to film. The BOB was doooooooooooope. Topping the BOB is gonna be hard but if there’s anyone that can do it, it’s HBOs budget and the folks who run Game of Thrones. I honestly can’t even imagine a battle scene that took twice as long to film but I can’t wait.

Imagine the amount of gifs we’re gonna get from that battle?

Here’s some Battle of the Bastards gifs

I expect the level of gifs from the 55 nights battle to be just as good, if not better.
