Artem Lobov And Khabib Nurmagomedov Got Into A Little Hotel Scuffle Prior To UFC 223 This Saturday
Ah, we got ourselves a classic fight week hotel confrontation on our hands here. At this point, I think it’s safe to call this a staple of a huge fight week. Mix in the fact that Khabib’s probably cranky from his tough weight cut and I’d guess he was gonna hardo-out on the first person he saw, and hardo-out he did. While he was at it, he disobeyed the unwritten rules of fight week hotel scuffles here, too, even if Lobov was talking shit (which he was). These unwritten rules include:
1. If you run into your opponent/a fighter you hate in the hotel lobby alone and he’s alone, he’s fair game to go after.
2. If you run into your opponent/a fighter you hate in the hotel lobby alone and he has a posse with him, he’s fair game to go after. Good luck.
3. If you run into your opponent/a fighter you hate in the hotel lobby with your posse and he has a posse with him, he’s fair game to go after.
4. If you run into your opponent/a fighter you hate in the hotel lobby with your posse and he’s alone, he is NOT fair game to go after. He’s defenseless and you’ll come off as a hardo and a pussy simultaneously.
5. Pushing, shoving, and non-homophobic/racist name calling is allowed and encouraged.
6. Yelling “HOLD ME BACK” is absolutely necessary. Cannot forget this in any circumstance.
7. Punches can be thrown so long as they are absolutely not going to connect. Make it look good but let’s not actually hurt anyone here brother, we’re just fucking around.
8. In the case of your opponent/a fighter you hate pulling a gun on you and your wife, then shooting your wife dead, you have to fight him many months later after an inspirational but ultimately depressing comeback from alcoholism, drug use, and depression. Wait a minute this isn’t a rule this is the plot of ‘Southpaw’, forget this last one.
As you can see, Khabib violated rule 4, and I’m happy he did. Because he just signed his death certificate with this act.
If Conor McGregor values one thing in this world, it’s loyalty. Loyalty over all else. And you could argue that nobody in his life has been quite as loyal as Artem. So Khabib…a storm is acomin’, buddy. Good luck. Hahahahahaha!
