Can you spell bloodbath??? Villanova behind their slick backed Jack of a head coach and a white Italian known as The Michael Jordan of Delaware just absolutely SPANKED Michigan in the National Championship game. What a roll. 6-0 ATS this tournament, as they were in 2016 (and prob 1985). Such an amazing display of dominance and efficiency, and it almost looked effortless. That’s now 2 in 3 years. Next up: Dynasty.
Just to be clear, no, I am not a Villanova diehard. However, I, along with the overwhelming majority from the Philadelphia area, are vehement Big 5 supporters. And just as St. Joes in the elite 8 with Jameer Nelson and Delonte West, LaSalle Southwest Philly Floating it into the Sweet 16, Penn beating their Ivy’s, or Temple underachieving every year since the beginning of time (also when John Chaney was born), we root for whoever dances the farthest. Hell, we’ll even throw Drexel in there when they’re back to relevant once a generation. Deal with it. I didn’t go to or have any real ties with any school, so it not only should be allowed, but encouraged. The #RoneCurse is alive and oh it feels so good. Philly(ish) over Portnoy, forever and ever.
