Weirdo Bubba Watson Wins The Genesis Open, Says He Seriously Considered Retiring

Big win for Bubba Watson at Riviera. He played fantastic on a really compelling and strategic golf course, shaping the hell out of the ball and showing off an arsenal of different shots. His game is fun and impressive to watch, but man is he a fuckin’ weirdo. He started bawling crying immediately after holing out on 18, then in the post round interview he confirmed that he did indeed seriously consider retiring. Said he and the old lady sat down 10-12 times to talk about it. Said he went through some undisclosed illness and also that he’s not sure the physical toll on the body is worth it. Uhhhh what? You golf bro. You’re not Rob Gronkowski or Connor McGregor over here. You’re Bubba fucking Watson. You’re 39 years old and you play golf. And you don’t play and practice and train for golf in the badass Tiger Woods way, crushing weights and Navy SEAL killhouses and running 8 miles a day. You’re a twig with unbelievable natural talent.

In the last 6 years, Bubba’s won 2 Masters, 3 LA Opens, and 7 total Tour events. He cried when the US team he didn’t even play on won the Ryder Cup. And he’s going to just… retire? Yeah right.
