Question of the Day - Does Ron Borges Have To Kill Himself?

So in case you’ve been living in a cave the big story in Boston today and borderline country is that Ron Borges was tricked into believing that Tom Brady was going to hold out because of the Jimmy G contract.  Jerry covered it in detail.  It was front page of the Sports section for the Boston Herald. A MAJOR story. The only problem? The guy who leaked the info to Borges was a sports radio caller who was just fucking with him. And yet the Herald made it the entire back page. Just a mortifying, gruesome mistake from Ron Borges. Like I’m honestly trying to think what I’d do if this happened to me? Sure I’ve been tricked before. Michael Vick at Logan Airport. The Edgartown Shark.  Meeting Mark Cuban in Nantucket.  Things happen. But this? A “real” reporter getting one text from a sports radio lunatic and falling for it hook line and sinker? A major daily newspaper running it as it’s back page cover?

Listen I don’t know Ron Borges. I’ve never spoken to him. I’m probably the last guy he wants advice from. But having said that I think he has to kill himself. That’s the only way to begin to rebuild his credibility. To acknowledge what a jackass he is. To regain the trust of his readers. “Like yup Ronnie knew how bad he fucked up. Just jumped straight off a cliff. ” That’s the only way to start the rebuilding process. Or just quit and go live like a monk for the rest of your life. But one thing is certain. He can never be taken seriously talking about football or the Patriots for the rest of his life.
