And there it is. The second time Nick Foles has donned the cover of Sports Illustrated. The first? The greatness that was the 2013 Snow Bowl.

Nick Foles is no Carson Wentz. That’s for sure. But Nick Foles is not a bad quarterback. In fact, he’s pretty damn good and probably deserves to be a starter somewhere in the NFL. The fact he’s proven it before and not many people gave him the chance to lead this team going forward is shocking. I’m not privy going back to the 27-2 season, but, FUCK, that was one of the best quarterbacking seasons not only in Eagles history, but of all-time. Remember when he was both the future of the franchise AND the NFL?

That 2013 season was something to behold. Foles followed up with an injury shortened 2014 year where he was indeed human, but still an above average QB. Then, shit/Chip happened and dished Foles away to St. Louis. To each their own, but don’t hold that against Foles. Besides his rookie year, Nick Foles has performed every time he went under center EXCEPT for the one year he was abruptly traded into a foreign system run by an inept Jeffrey Fisher:

You CAN’T hold one dismal year under a shit coach against Big Dick Nick. In fact, check out these combined numbers of Foles, Goff, and Keenum during and after Fisher’s tenure (via FTW)

No QB has done dick under Jeff Fisher since Steve McNair had a head. Other than that one year, Nick Foles has performed high and hangs low at almost every given opportunity. And will continue to do so in the Super Bowl. Why such confidence? Well, the numbers kind of speak for themselves at this point:

Again, Foles is no Wentz. But the man can ball, dammit. And he’ll put the Eagles in every possible position to come away with their first Super Bowl. Believe.
