And thats enough internet for today! Listen I understand the outrage of goofing around and laughing in a suicide forest and why its fucked up to post this video to MILLIONS of viewers, the vast majority of which are children. Like Logan Paul (basically Team Portnoy member. Just saying.) just showed a dead body swinging in the breeze to like 2 million eleven year old girls. Thats an outrageous thing to do, and so, subsequently, outrage.

But holy fucking shit am I laughing. I mean this is the disgusting, depraved internet at its finest and as a guy who lives in the mud with mud gills, I gotta say its fucking hilarious. In a vacuum, this picture is so preposterous I cant help but laugh:

This fucking moron made a video basically throwing a party because he found a dead Japanese man dangling from a tree. Thats crazy. But whats even crazier is that this is just how the internet GOES, man. We’re all living in one big episode of Black Mirror and people are going to constantly get weirder and wilder and darker and crazier than the next person to try to get views and clicks and follows. At the rate we’re going I expect youtubers to be actually killing people for their episodes. Its not gonna be “We found a dead body,” its gonna be “we created a dead body.” This is the monster we created.

What it all comes down to is Logan Paul is just a fucking idiot. Yes, of course hes a vapid, vacuous piece of shit for clowning around with a dead body like he was at the zoo looking at the animals. Yes, its a scary thought that his fans are at a young and impressionable age where he might persuade them into thinking suicide is funny. But limiting the fake outrage where we pretend to care about random Japanese people and Youtube viewers, its more about just how dumb Logan Paul is. I mean he’s not the first person to film inside the Japanese Suicide Forest. Its a well known thing. I was blogging about it back in 2009 on For Sure Not. If a bunch of weird Japanese people wanna go kill themselves in the jungle, thats their prerogative. Logan Paul didnt create the suicide forest. But the notion that this was going to go over OK is just bananas. He actually started out OK – he said they wanted to cover it from the angle of “haunted forest” and then when they found a dead body it got too real. Its that second part of the edit where everyone is laughing and joking and acting like it was all fun that completely fucked him. Posting that is about as misguided and uncalibrated as you will see when it comes to internet content. And then to turn around and call it a “mistake” is an even worse move. Dude you picked a suicide jungle, went there, filmed it, edited it, and posted it. You werent trying to raise awareness. You werent looking to end suicide. You wanted to get clicks because your little brother is about to eclipse you in followers. It is what it is, pal. Sometimes we all go too far. Sometimes you get caught up in the content. Lost in the sauce. You and the rest of Team 10 got so deep into the game you lost sight of whats right and wrong and the result was you in a Japanese suicide forest next to a dead dude in a noose. It happens. Just put your hand up.
