Quentin Tarantino Is Apparently Developing A Star Trek Movie? Dafuq?

The Hollywood Reporter- The filmmaker has a pitch for a Star Trek film, and he has shared his vision with J.J. Abrams, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Tarantino and Abrams have plans to bring together a writers room to develop a film at Star Trek studio Paramount. Tarantino has an eye to direct the potential project.

The studio had no comment.

A lot of fucked up things have happened in 2017, but I think this one takes the cake. In what world is QUENTIN TARANTINO looking to make a science fiction movie in a franchise that already exists?! I’m not against it whatsoever, I mean as a huge Tarantino fan and NOT a big Star Trek fan I’d definitely prefer he dive into the Wars universe instead, but consider my ticket purchased. Disney would probably never give him the rights to a Star Wars spinoff, either, because he’d have some sick space orgy where someone overdoses on some space drugs while everyone’s saying some space slurs, and it’ll feature deaths so gruesome that Anakin burning would look as tame as Jar Jar stepping in doo doo. Would be kinda sick though.

I’d like for Disney to give the Star Wars universe rights up to waaaaaay different kinda of filmmakers going forward. Imagine a buddy cop movie about two Stormtroopers with James Franco and Seth Rogan in those roles? Or a Fast and The Furious crossover about Podracing? Or a rom/com with Ryan Gosling, a smuggler, chasing someone low in royalty played by Emma Stone? Let’s mix up the genres here, nobody needs a young Han Solo movie. We need La La Land in space.

Oh, but back to this project, it’d be much much much crazier if JJ Abrams wasn’t involved. His Star Trek movies rule, as does everything he touches, so I’m sure he’ll keep Quentin in check.
