Did Larry David Rip Off Dave Chappelle In The Latest Episode Of Curb?

How is no one talking about this? Do people not get outraged at comedians stealing bits anymore? I get that there’s a lot going on in the news: sexual assault, impending nuclear war, blah blah blah. But this deserves some sort of acknowledgment, Amy Schumer got destroyed for doing the exact same thing. So did a bunch of other comedians. Take a look at the scenes. Larry David’s is called ‘Relationship NDA.’

Credit where credit is due, it is hilarious. “I just like to get an erection and put it in a vagina” made me laugh out loud. Who does that? Gross. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that it was clearly a rip off of Chappelle’s 2004 ‘Love Contract.’

I’m not a comedy watchdog and I’m not one to criticize where people get their inspiration from, but it is worth noting. It makes you wonder what else he’s stolen. Could it be retaliation for a bit Chappelle took from him? Possibly. There’s also a high probability he’s never seen or heard of Chappelle’s Show. Regardless, it doesn’t take away from his reputation. Larry is and always will be the GOAT when it comes to television comedy. I’m just going to have to watch his shows a little more closely now.
