Karma is a Beautiful Thing: Dude Returns 30 Pounds He Found In ATM, 30 Minutes Later Wins £50,000 on a £1.50 Virtual Horse Racing Bet
A dad-of-two had a welcome dose of karma just moments after proving his honesty by handing in money he found at an ATM. Building site labourer Colin Banks won nearly £50,000 from a £1.50 bet after beating odds of 372,000-1. Just half an hour earlier the 50-year-old had found £30 left behind by a customer at a cash machine in Motherwell, the Daily Record reports.
Colin said: “They say honesty is the best policy, and it certainly was for me.
Colin and his daughter Zoe went to withdraw money at an Asda store when they noticed £30 had been left behind by a previous customer. Without thinking twice, they handed the cash in at the store. Just 30 minutes later, Colin was jumping for joy after a long-shot £1.50 bet landed him £49,077 when his four selections on virtual horse racing all won. Colin celebrated his good karma with “more than one glass” of wine – and has already splashed out £8,500 on a second-hand Ford Focus.
Note: It’s come to my attention the £ symbol is for pounds and not euros. To me it’s literally all the same thing
I’m a HUGEEEEE Karma guy. Especially when it comes to gambling. You can’t be messing with karma when you’re hoping for something to go your way in the immediate future. If I give a dollar away to a homeless guy or hold the door for five people I think I’m in a good spot to win my next bet. If one of my teams are in the playoffs you bet your ass I’m holding the door for some old people before the game. You feel good about yourself doing shit for others you should be rewarded. That’s a fact. I present to you exhibit A with my guy Colin Banks. Guy found 30 pounds sitting in an ATM and didn’t think to pocket it himself and get him a free tank of gas or something. Nope, Colin returned it to a store and got rewarded soon after. By that I mean his miracle long-shot horse race bet on a virtual machine hit in impossible fashion. Colin won all four of the races he selected, pocketing him 50,000 pounds which is about just over $67,000, all for betting £1.50. That’s fucking Karma baby. Without a doubt in my mind this guy doesn’t even win one race on his bet if he pocketed that money from the ATM. No shot. That’s not how the universe works pal.
This was one of the biggest cash-ins on a virtual horse racing bet in history. The odds were 372,000 to 1 which is fucking insane. Here are some of the things more likely of happening to you than winning that kind of bet according to the Boston Globe.
-The odds of dating a supermodel are about 1 in 88,000
-Dying from a hornet, wasp or bee sting: 1 in 79,842
-Winning an Oscar- 1 in 11,500.
-Injured by a toilet- 1 in 10,000.
-The odds that the person you’re dating is a millionaire, 1 in 216
-The odds of being struck by lighting in your lifetime — provided you live for about 80 years — are 1 in 12,000
Live it up Colin. Merry Christmas
