I Think Our Slogan Saturdays Are For the Boys Temporarily Saved Butch Jones Job At Tennessee?

KnoxNews – As John Currie walked through Neyland Stadium on Saturday night, the first-year Tennessee athletic director found a common refrain presented to him by fans in attendance. And he found the words inspiring in the wake of the football program’s struggles. “I had so many people coming up to me saying they were there for the players,” Currie said to the Rotary Club of Knoxville on Tuesday. “They came for the boys. That’s what one of them said, ‘Saturdays are for the boys.’ That was inspiring to me.

So I guess there was a movement among Tennessee fans trying to boycott last Saturday Night’s game in Knoxsville to force John Currie to fire Butch Jones instantly. But according to Currie the fans showed up anyway because “Saturdays Are For the Boys.”  And now SAFTB has inspired John Currie not to fire Butch Jones yet. I gotta be honest. I don’t like this at all. This is like when a presidential candidate uses a song without the band’s permission and gets yelled at. Barstool Sports DOES NOT give the TN AD permission to use Saturdays Are For the Boys in relation to Butch Jones and the football program. I mean we don’t want to be on the wrong side of history with this one. Butch Jones stinks. In no way do we endorse him still being the football coach. Once TN fires him they can use SAFTB again, but until then they can’t. Don’t make us send a C+D you. Do the right thing John. Do the right thing. #FireButchJones
