Human Garbage Bowe Bergdahl Says Taliban Treated Him More Fairly Than The US Army

The former prisoner of war, who earlier this week pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehavior-before-the-enemy charges, told Britain’s Sunday Times newspaper that his homecoming was difficult because his case had become political.

“At least the Taliban were honest enough to say, ‘I’m the guy who’s gonna cut your throat,’” he told the paper. “Here, it could be the guy I pass in the corridor who’s going to sign the paper that sends me away for life.”

Bergdahl, now 31, walked off his remote post in Afghanistan in 2009 with the intention of reaching other commanders and drawing attention to what he saw as problems in his unit.

But shortly after leaving the base Bergdahl got lost and was kidnapped by the Taliban who imprisoned him for five years — for three of which he was forced to live in a metal cage.

Fuck this dude. For years I’ve tried to wrap my head around why Bowe Bergdahl did what he did. I’m a pretty open guy. I try to see someone else’s side of the issues. I’ve had heated debates with folks about the fact that I don’t think that it’s wrong that we traded high-level terrorists to get Bowe back because, in my mind, there’s something beautiful and poetic about the idealism that we will never leave anyone behind on the battlefield.

That being said, we should have left Bowe Bergdahl on the battlefield. I would have never come to that conclusion if Bowe would have just kept his bitch ass mouth shut. From the letters that he wrote his parents while he was still in Afghanistan to Serial season 2 where he runs his fucking mouth to the parts in this most recent interview that he did with a British paper, Bowe just needs to learn when to shut the fuck up.

If I was the military judge today and I read this interview that he granted just DAYS before his sentencing, I would make the sentencing tougher. I would toss the proverbial book at his dick. Sure, Bowe pleaded guilty, but he hasn’t shown an ounce of remorse for his actions. He hasn’t taken responsibility for the lives that were either changed forever or stripped away completely because of what he did. Reading his comments made me feel fucking sick. It’s the same pie in the sky self-aggrandizing bullshit that made him abandon his post in 2009. The Army conducting a trial is in no way, shape, or form on the same level as the goddamn Taliban. The egregiousness of the hyperbole really is sickening.

Overall, I’m sure Bowe is right. I’m sure there are thousands of soldiers on every US military installation who want him dead and would love nothing more than to slit his throat wide the fuck open. The difference is that these soldiers have the discipline to not act on their own accord and take matters into their own hands. If Bowe would have had that same, most basic level of military discipline and soldierly virtue, he wouldn’t be in this position. His comments to a British paper prove that he didn’t, doesn’t, and won’t.

If you aren’t familiar with what happened, we talked about it on Zero Blog Thirty with one of Bowe’s platoon mates this week. My stance has changed since reading this interview. I hope that mother fucker rots. ROTS!
