Joe Thomas' Consecutive Snaps Streak Comes To An End

10,363 consecutive snaps to start a career. Not even a particularly fun career at a glamor position like wide receiver on the Saints raking in 108 yards a week playing with a Hall of Fame QB. Nope, a decade straight of playing one of the most brutal positions in all of sports for one of the most brutal franchises in the history of cities and uniforms. He was basically a janitor who only worked in the trailers emptying the septic tanks for the cast of Roseanne with a smile on his face every single day. How he never had a guard roll up behind him and twist an ankle, how he never broke a finger in the trenches, how he never got the wind knocked out of him at the bottom of a pile, a stinger, anything you see guys miss at least a play for every single week is beyond comprehension. If he hangs up the cleats forever because the streak has ended, I don’t think anyone would blame him.
