This Guy Speaks For Everyone When He Says Getting In A High-Speed Police Chase Was On His Bucket List

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa State Patrol says a man pulled over in Des Moines after a car pursuit told state troopers that he wanted to be chased because it was on his bucket list. Des Moines television station KCCI reports that the man refused to halt a little before 7:30 a.m. Thursday when a trooper tried to stop him over a violation on Interstate 80. The 10- to 15-minute chase ended soon after he left the interstate. He was taken into custody. That’s when the 46-year-old Des Moines resident shared his bucket list story with troopers. Court records show Jones was charged with OWI, eluding, interference with official acts, speeding, operation without registration, unlawful use of license and a parole violation.

Yep. Pretty much. Getting in a high speed chase with police is on every single person’s bucket list. You just hadn’t thought about it if it’s not on yours. And you wanna know why it’s on everyone’s bucket list? Because all of us watched COPS in the afternoon and every single one of us had the same thought while watching that show: I could get away. That’s it. I could get away from the police. That is at the heart and soul of why getting in a police chase is on everyone’s bucket list. We are all convinced that we’d take the right exit. We’d drive through the right patch of woods. We’d pull the right maneuver. We’ve all watched the game tape. We watched an endless line of dumbass hillbillies get caught and we thought, nay, we KNEW we could do better. That’s what Frederick Jones had on his mind when he decided to push that pedal all the way to the floor. He had trained his whole life for that moment. However, Frederick Jones is now just another statistic that he vowed he wouldn’t become. We are all now looking at Frederick thinking, “I could’ve gotten away.” Respect to Frederick for giving it a shot though. That takes guts.
