WWE Sends The Young Bucks A Cease & Desist Over Their Use Of The "Too Sweet" Hand Gesture

ProWrestlingSheet- After months of joking about it, and just one day after Bullet Club “invaded” Raw, WWE sent The Young Bucks an ACTUAL cease and desist letter over the “Too Sweet” hand gesture. Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed WWE reached out to the popular Ring of Honor/NJPW tag team to say they own the copyright to the “Too Sweet” hand gesture and have discovered that the brothers have been using it in other companies, as well as on merch.

Therefore, WWE is demanding the Bucks stop using WWE intellectual property in-ring and on any merchandise immediately. If not, they may be hit with $150K in damages or more. They also want an agreement in writing saying the brothers wont use WWE IP again in the future.

It’s unclear at this point whether The Young Bucks plan to fight this, but sources tell us they’ve consulted with a lawyer and will figure out what’s best in the days to come.

If you’re a fan of the graps, it’s been impossible not to notice the revival of the “Too Sweet” hand gesture made famous by the Kliq back in the day. In the WWE alone, AJ Styles, Finn Bálor, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson all use it, not necessarily in tribute to the legendary Kliq, but as an ode to the Bullet Club, which they were all former members of. The Bullet Club is a heel stable in New Japan Pro Wrestling that gets heat in a very old school fashion…doing literally everything the nWo and DX used to do. Too Sweets, Suck Its, run ins, adding way too many people to their group, the whole nine. The Bucks are two of the leading members of the Bullet Club, and after they “invaded” RAW, I guess petty Vince has had enough. No more fun, guys. Those sick tights Robbie designed for you?

Don’t wear those anymore.

BOOOOOOOOOOO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

In the Bucks’ YouTube series, Being The Elite, they’ve been running storylines that the WWE is sending them C&D’s over all of the stolen intellectual property, so this is pretty ironic, but it still sucks. Vince McMahon once said “Have some fun, dammit!” and I wish he’d listen to his own advice just this one time.

Maybe this’ll clean up the shitty parody shirt epidemic spanning independent wrestling, though. If it does, it’ll probably be worth it.
