Shout Out To The NYC Contractor That "Fixed" A Leaking Air Conditioner With A Funnel And Some Packing Tape
Someone hit the motherfucking music sound bite!!!
I don’t know if I have the ability to induct someone into KFC’s Mailtime Hall of Fame, but I should at least be able to nominate someone, right? Because this contractor personified the motto of snaking it til you make it. First off, lets go to the tape. Not the video but the actual tape. If you slap some duct tape on something, it at least shows that you are trying. Duct tape is the greatest binding material mankind has ever created as well as one of it’s greatest inventions. But clear packing tape is a half a step up from masking tape. If it isn’t being used to close a cardboard box, it will probably turn into a jumbled mess before long.
Then we have the funnel catching the water, which is just American ingenuity at its finest. Sure some sort of sealant maye have been better than this contraption, but this contractor just wanted to get his MacGyver on to fix a problem. No problem there. The shop owner didn’t want the air conditioner dripping on his customers anymore, the funnel caught the water, and a few feet of tubing safely moves the water to a place that no customer could reach. Based on the video, this contractor succeeded in his goal.
That’s just how shit works in the concrete jungle where dreams are made of. Sure those dreams aren’t paved in gold, but instead stuck together with packing tape and plastic objects from the local dollar store. Some would say this contractor even went above and beyond what he was asked to do and probably gave a very fair price for parts and labor. The water doesn’t drip on anyone and now a small section of the window never has to be washed. I bet the free window washing wasn’t even included in the agreement. Just a little freebie from one hard working man to another. New York City contractors: Actually good. Support your local unions!
