NFL Upholds Ezekiel Elliott's 6 Game Suspension But Will Be Eligible To Play Sunday Vs. The Giants

I don’t think this news is really that much of a shock to anyone. I thought mayyyyybe there was an outside chance the NFL would reduce the suspension to 1 or 2 games, the Cowboys accept, and everyone went on their way. But since this is Roger Goodell’s NFL, I also thought there was a good chance that nothing would happen and the NFL would be locked in another legal fight with the NFLPA, one of their biggest owners, and one of their most popular players.

Now to be fair, the only information I’ve gathered on this case is what people have tweeted because that’s how I consume all my information in 2017. Some people say the NFL treated this investigation like they treat most of their investigation, which is to say poorly. Others say that the NFLPA and Elliott hid key witnesses. To be honest, all of this makes my head hurt. This is why ESPN shouldn’t have laid off Roger Cossack. I need him to tell me how to think when it comes to all this legal mumbo jumbo. I still think that upholds means a case or fantasy trade was overturned. Nope, quite the opposite.

In the end, I imagine all that matters is that Roger Goodell is judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to anything involving the NFL and all a lengthy court battle will do is delay the inevitable (until Week 2 of the NFL season or maybe even next season? I don’t know).

Regardless, it looks like both sides are dug in and we will have a story that doesn’t go away. Luckily any small sports blogs in Dallas have Rundown topics for the next decade or so.

As for Sunday, again I’m not surprised. No matter what the NFL thinks of Ezekiel Elliott, I’m sure they are not all that broken up that Zeke is facing the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football Week 1 of the season. Fantasy owners can rejoice. Cowboys fans can rejoice. Ezekiel Elliott supporters can rejoice.

Sorry I had to include that because it is soooo ridiculous. Nonetheless, I just want everyone to remember one very important tidbit. All running backs run the same when there is nowhere to run.

God I love that fucking quote. Poor Zeke is going to get eaten by the Giants front four like a snack. Did I say snack? That reminds me of my favorite shirt in the Barstool store!

On a completely unrelated note, it looks like Damon Harrison is hungry. Someone should feed him 25 times or so this Sunday!

And in case any Giants fans want to make a statement about the way the NFL commissioner conducts business, boy do I have just the shirt for you. (For tonight only, I will allow stinky Cowboys fans to buy this shirt as well).

P.S. The NFLPA is much worse off than any of us realized. As if getting bodybagged in the latest CBA wasn’t bad enough, their legal counsel is using a Blackberry in the year 2017.
