BIG News For The Celtics As Lil B Has Officially Given Them His Blessing
BIG time news coming in hot this afternoon in regards to our beloved Boston Celtics. You may be asking yourself
A) Greenie who the fuck is Lil B
B) How does this rapper’s blessing actually matter?
C) What time are we all meeting up for the parade?
All great questions. Allow me to start by saying if you can’t have fun with this, you have a giant dump in your pants. Live a little for me one time. Now, who is Lil B? He’s a 28 year old rapper from Berkley, CA who came on the scene probably around 2004. Despite what you may think, what makes him unique as an artist is his “based” style. Basically this means he raps in a more positive tone.
Maybe his music is for you, maybe it isn’t but that is not the point of this blog. The point is for the next question.
Why does this actually matter? Well if you think Lil B can’t impact the performance of NBA players, you my friend, are a moron. Just ask Kevin Durant and James Harden. First came Durant, and this 2011 curse
Let me ask you fine reader, just how many titles did Kevin Durant win from that tweet on? Did he happen to play and lose in a Finals during this time period? Perhaps also blow a 3-1 lead? Then, after much consideration, Lil B decided to waive his curse
And who was it again that won the title last year? Was it a team that had Durant? Hmmmm
Then we also had his issue with James Harden, for basically stealing his celebration dance
Now I ask you again, did Harden have any postseason struggles since getting cursed?
So look, I don’t really care whether you want to believe in this stuff or not. You cannot argue it is better to get a Lil B blessing than a curse. Nobody really knows how much of an impact this stuff has, but nobody can say for CERTAIN it’s nothing. If I’ve learned one thing after going through the season with a magical puppy, there are some things you simply can’t question, just accept.
Was I already expecting Jaylen to take a jump? Yup. Have my expectations now risen ever so slightly? Impossible for them not to.
This summer has been filled with excitement and big time news, and now adding this blessing to the fire is the cherry on top.
