BREAKING: Adrian Beltre Still Hates His Head Being Touched
I’ll never get tired of this. And you know what the big takeaway here is? It’s that Adrian Beltre is really good at baseball. You have to be if you’re going to dick around as often as he does. If Beltre had signed a big-money deal with the Rangers and immediately started hitting .220 with no power and shitty defense over the life of that deal, he would get ripped to shreds for goofing off. But the reason why he can do it and everybody loves it? He’s really good at baseball, and he has been for two decades at the major league level.
A calf injury and an ankle injury have limited Beltre to just 23 games this year, but he’s still hitting .294 with an .897 OPS, and last night was his second consecutive game with a homer, and his third bomb in his last seven games. Don’t worry, Ranger fans. We don’t have to talk about last night’s game beyond Beltre’s homer. Jk the Rangers were up 9-2 going into the bottom of the fourth inning and they lost 15-9.
But that’s neither here nor there. What’s important is that at 38 years old, in his 20th big league season, Beltre is still performing at a high level and having a blast doing it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to watch these Beltre head rub and nonsense videos.
