Another Bridesmaid Is Going Viral For Rapping To Eminem At A Wedding And This Needs To Stop

Mashable – This bridesmaid blew the entire reception away by performing “The Real Slim Shady.” Even more impressive is that she rewrote all of the lyrics to the song to be about the bride and groom’s love story.

The real slim Katie is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

^hate you. But I saw this headline about a bridesmaid going viral for doing an Eminem rap and was like “Wait this sounds familiar?” I click open the video and see ol Katie here rapping, a different girl than I’ve seen before. Because this girl went viral before doing the same thing:

And so did this other girl, who I think was on Barstool several years back:

She gets bonus points for bringing the hoodie prop, having a better flow, and I think being the first to do it. But the rapping to Eminem, and rapping in general is like an epidemic when you go down a YouTube rabbit hole. Here’s a bridesmaid rap to the Fresh Prince theme:

And some British chick doing Ice Ice Baby:

And maybe I’m just cynical and having a dump in my pants because the people at all these weddings seem to be having a blast as the bridesmaids bust out “Rise Pageviews Rise”-caliber flows along with each video racking up hundreds of thousands if not millions of views. But I would be so embarrassed if I were at a wedding where something like this happened. The first time a girl went viral it’s like “Whoa that’s pretty creative and she did a good job.” And then you have the copycats who want the same thing, sure. But it’s like five years after the first chick went viral doing this and you STILL have a chick blowing up for doing the exact same thing. At least try different songs, different medleys, maybe do something to Migos so you can dab on them. But instead we’re still having chicks rap an almost 20-year-old Eminem song in the most generic way possible to celebrate some people’s love. I’m not opposed to the whole “I’m so basic” thing chicks do in an unfunny girlish way to imply self-deprecation for how cliché they are but update the karaoke playlist for your derivative wedding parody raps or I will scowl so hard at my laptop screen you won’t even know what hit you.
