WaPo - “I think first of all, we gotta bring Kirk back,” Reed told SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Zig Fracassi and AJ Hawk of Kirk Cousins, who played last season under the franchise tag. “We gotta bring Kirk back. We gotta bring two of our most valuable weapons back — Pierre [Garcon] and [DeSean Jackson] — for us to have a shot. So, I think we need to bring those guys back and add a couple more pieces on defense, and I think we’ll be right were we need to be.”

“I would love to see Kirk back,” Reed told Hannah Storm. “He’s a great player and I think he’s proven to the NFL that he deserves to be paid like one of the top players in the NFL. I think the best is yet to come for him and I still don’t think he’s reached his full potential. I think he’s an awesome QB. … He only got two years starting so far. With a third year, with the same system and things like that, he could only get better.”

Jordan Reed makes a point that we aren’t talking about enough- Kirk hasn’t reached his full potential and he’s only started in the league for 2 years. Matt Ryan was drafted in 08 and finally just put it all together in his 9th season and won an MVP. Kirk has started 2. TWO! And his numbers in his first two years of starting are so very good

Almost 5,000 yards this year and 54 TDs over the last two seasons. Completion % hovers near 70%. The wild thing is how he’s already this good and could very well have years to go until he’s at his absolute peak.

Every time I read something like this I get more and more convinced Kirk should be getting that fuck you NFL money. In a league where the Brocketship is getting a billion dollars, Kirk is definitely worth a billion and a half. We have a long offseason of “will they or won’t they” ahead.
