The Couple That DUIs Together, Stays Together

Free Press - Hamburg Township police arrested a local couple — the wife who allegedly drove drunk with her children in the car and the father for driving drunk to pick up the kids.

The wife, Siobhan Theresa Egnot, returns to Livingston County District Court on Monday for a pretrial hearing. Egnot, who is free on a $5,000 bond, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with occupants under the age of 16. Her husband has not been charged as of today.

Egnot called her husband to pick up the couple’s children, a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son, who were passengers in the wife’s Explorer. When the 39-year-old husband arrived on scene, officers noticed that the husband, who was driving a 2007 Pontiac G6, also was intoxicated, Duffany said.

I was talking to tech guy Pete about this and we agreed, this story is beautiful. What an inspiring way to end the week. Sure, the whole “drinking and driving with kids in the car” thing is a bit put-offish, but that’s not really the point. All anyone wants in life is to find someone who gets them. You can meet a lot of people, go on a lot of dates, and all you want to do is one day find that special someone. Every girl is like “Jim and Pam, such #goals”. And this couple, I’ll tell you what, they are a modern-day version of Jim and Pam. They are #goals. So, slide on over dumb ass Jim and Pam. Siobhan and her unnamed husband, they just took the driver’s seat, no pun intended. One being too drunk to function getting saved by the other who was too drunk to function, it doesn’t get much cuter than that. So hey, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, aspire to be better. Aspire to be more of a Romeo. Be Siobhan. Be her drunk ass husband. You’ll thank yourselves later. (Just maybe find a babysitter for the kids first.)
