A Thai Kickboxer Matrix'ing His Way Away From A High Kick Is Impressive As Hell

What a way to stay alive at the end of a round by Rafael ‘Ataman’ Fiziev (electric nickname). It was a bit of a looping roundhouse kick so that explains how he could have seen it coming enough to throw that amazing Neoesque dodge but being able to snap it off with that degree of flexibility is unbelievably impressive. And it also makes me think about how underrated The Matrix series is in the annals of time. Hell there might be some younger Stoolies reading this who never even saw the original and that pains me. Maybe it’s a little dated now, I don’t know, but for a movie to have created such an ambitious story and innovated technologically and in terms of storytelling and production…it’s all just gone a bit unappreciated. The fact you could see something from a Thai kickboxing match almost 20 years after it came out (kill me) and immediately go “That’s a move right out of The Matrix” sorta says it all doesn’t it?
