Miss Netherlands Busting Out Some Off-Camera Dance Moves During Miss Universe Is Probably The Hottest Thing From The Pageant

Daily Dot – The best moment of Miss Universe 2017 didn’t happen on live TV.

Hours before the grand coronation on Sunday, Miss Netherlands Zoey Ivory couldn’t hold back when Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” came over the speakers. She never quite fully commits to the routine, but you can tell she could break it off if she wanted to.

Now I admit I’m much better at judging women from afar and grading things by muttering things under my breath than serving as a “formal judge at a pageant” so you can take my opinions here on the Miss Universe crowning here with a grain of salt. But if I were running a pageant in 2017, this Zoey Ivory chick is doing exactly what I’d want to see. These things are all so irrelevant, overly done and overly rehearsed women who’ve prepared their whole lives for this moment trotting out there and giving canned answers and acting like robots. But Miss Netherlands here let it out, doing a goofy little dance, acting like a normal attractive woman and dancing like no one’s watching on a stage of multicultural Stepford Wives. That’s a human moment, a real bit of personality amidst all the forced phoniness. I’ll take a girl who dances like no one’s watching in a stressful situation over these girls and their canned personalities every day of the week.

For the record, she has other qualifications besides ones you might find on voyeuristically filmed video (nice):

…now that I see she’s kind of ambiguously ethnic, her spastic dancing at the pageant loses a little appeal to me. But still, 9.5 out of 10 for the effort, charming enough for me to give her a meaningless Miss Universe sash and move her onto the next round competing against the ladies of Mars and Omicron Persei 8.
