Wanda Sykes Called Trump 'Racist, Sexist, Homophobic' Then Lost Her Mind And Left The Stage When The Audience Booed
Fox News – [Comedian] Wanda Sykes flipped off the crowd at Boston’s TD Garden arena after she was booed for her anti-Trump comments at the 22nd annual Comics Come Home fundraiser on behalf of the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care.
“I am certain this is not the first time we’ve elected a racist, sexist, homophobic president,” Sykes told the crowd according to the Boston Herald. “He’s just the first confirmed one, that’s it.”
Sykes’ comments were met with loud boos, prompting the comedian to yell out, “F–k you, motherf—er, f–k all of y’all.”
She then began pointing at various audience members and said, “F–k you, you, you.”
Before exiting the stage, the Boston Herald reports a woman came out and hugged Sykes while holding a peace sign which elicited cheers from the audience.
I’m sure at some point the endless bitching about the whole Democratic process being served as it was supposed to in the Presidential election will come to an end. And I have to imagine at some point as an entertainer people will eventually realize that you can have your own viewpoints without steamrolling everyone else’s, particularly when you’re long past your point of relevancy and your fucking job is to sell tickets to a wide variety of people to make yourself money to keep yourself afloat RAISE MONEY FOR FUCKING CANCER. But I continue to be completely shocked by how awfully people like Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer handled their own audience disagreeing with their views. Your job is to entertain them, not to make a joke, then be horrified it didn’t get the reaction you wanted, and then just make serious statements that aren’t entertaining where you make your audience who paid money to be there feel bad about themselves. It’s beyond idiotic to me. No one’s saying you have to ditch your beliefs at the door just to make money but at least make it entertaining instead of just saying things you think are facts and throwing a hissy fit about it. It continues to blow my mind how tone deaf a large chunk of society has been in this process.
Still, the most shocking thing has to be that Wanda Sykes is still somehow performing in front of sold-out arenas. She had some goodwill from me before this from her Curb Your Enthusiasm appearances but not “Performing at an arena in 2016″ amounts of goodwill. Honestly could have used a man-on-the-street video there just to understand how both the Trump fans and anyone else who’d spend a Friday at a Wanda Sykes show ended up there because I’m baffled. Gotta be lots of fired black dudes.
