Well looks like we’ve identified the problem. Score more points than your opponents and you’ll win. 7 points=wins. 3 points=losses. Not sure what happened. I guess they overlooked that in the team meetings. Gotta have better attention to detail.
This isn’t necessarily Alshon’s fault, but this quote gave me MAJOR Brandon “Black Cloud” Marshall flashbacks. A true and pretty innocuous comment got my blood boiling a little. Makes me think that this is just the first step down a road where the Bears trade Alshon for like a 4th round pick. So I think the Bears should institute a new policy for wide receivers. You got something negative to say? Guess what…that’s a franchise tag? Subtweet? That’ll be a million dollar performance bonus. Fight a teammate? Well you just locked yourself into some major guaranteed money. Not going to let talented players force their way out of Chicago any more. Players need to know that bad behavior won’t go unpunished. You’re in football Hotel California up in Lake Forest if you act out.
PS: John Fox said the same thing today. Just score more TDs. I’m just ready to move on from this team. They need a new GM, again. A new coach, again. A new QB, again. And most importantly…new ownership. Not saying I want the McCaskey family to end up like the O’Doyles in Billy Madison, but some kind of financial ruin that’d force them to sell the Bears. I don’t think that makes me a bad person. Right now the only thing the Bears are good at is keeping Chicago humble. We’d have a huge head if we lived in the best city in the world and had ALL of our teams winning all the time. Don’t want that. The Bears are character builders for the city.
