As you probably saw this morning, a train crashed into Hoboken station. It’s being called a “mass casualty” event, 100s of people injured and the roof of the building just straight up collapsed.

Our CRO Jay was on it in the 5th car and put out some pictures immediately.

He’s OK, don’t worry.

…Not that anyone in the media even thought to worry. Here’s a brief snippet of some of the most immediate responses. And this is just like, 1/4 of them.

“Hi there, I see you were on this speeding train that crashed full speed into a brick wall, destroying the platform. Plz DM us more pictures and call this number to confirm THX!!! : )”

At least a few of them started off with a “Hope ur ok!” before providing a phone number to dial in to, that was thoughtful.

Seriously I think my favorite was CNN sending a fucking link to click on for verification.

Yeah hold on one second CNN, let me just readjust this neck brace and fix the length on my crutches, then I’ll head over to your hyperlink and fill out this web form so you can use my picture.

Vultures, the lot of them.

UPDATE

This is fair.

After some time to think and hear the other side, I have softened my stance.

Still think there is a MUCH more delicate and human approach to it than the way 95% of the media does it now.
