Iowa's LLWS Dream Is Still Alive After A Walk-Off Win Against Rhode Island

Let’s gooooooooooo! I-O-W-A! I-O-W-A! I wasn’t prepared to get my Iowa sports juices flowing until September 3rd when Iowa football kicks off but I’m more than happy to do it a few weeks early. I never thought I’d be this invested in a LLWS team that I found out about a whole 4 days ago but here we are. Especially after they got thumped 14-4 by Kentucky on Monday (somehow that all happened in extra innings but whatever). But the dream is still alive. These little dudes from Johnston, Iowa are the little engine that could. They don’t quit. They don’t give up. They shouldn’t even be here. They’re playing with house money at this point. They were supposed to get beat by Big Bad California in the opening round. Instead they flipped the script, beat them to a pulp and shocked the whole damn world in the process. Their next game is today at 3pm. This Cinderella train ain’t going nowhere.
