The Crying Jordan Face Showed Up In An African Newspaper

WE DID IT, FOLKS! From internet meme to actual tool of journalism. This is what people must feel like when their favorite band goes from shitty dive bars to mainstream. At least if you consider being published in a Malawi newspaper “mainstream”. Sure the story is the result of a lot of the the depressing shit that has gone on in the U.S. lately. But it’s hard not to crack a smile every time you see that sad face full of tears.

I bet the newspaper editor was hoping he could find a picture of a sad Michael Jordan and had no idea he was about sutmble upon a treasure trove of 1 billion pictures with MJ’s face on the bodies of every famous person that has had something bad happen to him/her over the last year. And I love BBC getting the credit for the photograph. If BBC actually owned the rights to this picture, they would become the richest news outlet on the internet. But everyone knows that you have to pay Michael Jordan $1 every time you use the Crying Jordan. Day 1 internet stuff.
